Measuring temperature, wind speed, and collecting weather data day after day, year after year, is essential to understand the climate of a place and how it changes over time. That’s why we are excited to announce two new weather stations: one on the roof of the Borarium in Opicina, and the other at the Bora Saddle – the windiest spot in the Trieste area, where not only the Bora but also the local breezes are at their strongest.
We can’t wait to see if the Bora at the Saddle will reach 200 km/h – or close to it!
Both installations were made possible thanks to the support of TOCC PNRR Green funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU, and with the scientific collaboration of the Alpine-Adriatic Meteorological Society. The stations now join the cross-border weather network managed by the society. https://www.aametsoc.org/rete-meteo
